One young person commits suicide
every two (2) hours in the United States!
For every one young person suicide in the United States, there are 200 young people who attempt suicide. (854,800/year)
The young comprise 13% of the nations suicides. Eighty-seven people commit suicide each day in the United States. An average of six (6) persons are grieving over a suicide of each loved one; that translates to 200,000 people per year are experiencing the consequences of long-term grief. Add to that those who are traumatized to grief by those who have attempted suicide and you can easily see that people in the millions each year in the United States, are grieving over just this one aspect of death and death's threat.
